Commissioning/congress was this past weekend.
got to meet eric himes (the Red Book session), tom moffit (primitivesalvationist.org), and many more beautiful people.
but the high of my weekend was--
Commissioner Israel Gaither (the national commander for the US, candidate for general this past high council, and an amazing speaker) gave a word to us all on Friday evening. he said something like,
"the Lord is doing something new in the Salvation Army. something to do with prophecy. especially in regards to the youth. everyone-- if a young person comes up to you and prophecies-- listen to them! God is doing something in the youth of the Salvation Army, and they are beginning to prophecy."
how wonderful is that!? i almost started crying...
it's so glorious to hear a leader in the SA seeing what Holy Spirit is doing amongst us, and affirming it publicly.
i agree with him. the youth of the Salvation Army are hearing the voice of the Almighty, and speaking it.
grant it, Lord.

Yay to Gaither!!!!! I love that guy! Have I ever heard him speak or ever met him? Nope! But I love the guy!

Yes, actaully, i just emailed Commissioner Israel Gaither to express my disdain and offer some exhortation on the new video for the National Advisory Board Conference coming up called "Army of Champions". There were some questionable instances in the video that I felt represented the Army very poorly, such as cowboys cheerleaders, christ NEVER being mentioned, and the video also tells us to take PRIDE in the army, so I emailed my National Commander and respectfully exhorted him. At least i think respectfully, i was supposed to email it to Joel to proof read it, but i forgot, whoops.
oh yes, i received an email today from him, but it was automated, so i'll post his response when he gets back into the office on the 14th
