So Old Orchard Beach was more than a privilege for me. Our team was full of stalwarts and zealots, led by the mother bear herself, Elaine Gillingham. We really came together as a team and by the end of the week felt more like family than friends. Well, at least I did.
So the week consisted of a LOT of prayer and dusting off. Our main responsibility was to run the "Spiritual Readings" tent on the pier. We basically did like dusting off, but for strangers and unbelievers. Many many many people received words of God's love for them and specific personal words that both surprised them and turned their eyes to Jesus. Like one girl got the word "C is for cookie" a personal inside joke between her and her mother. Words like these gave credit to other words like "God really loves you and says He is proud of you" or "God is just speaking over you 'That's my boy! That's my boy!'" or "God is a jealous husband and wants all of your attention or none of it." We even had some undercover officers come into the tent, get words of life and direction, and then tell us afterwards that they were Salvation Army officers.
I feel like Patricia King. Maybe I should write a book.
When we weren't dusting off people on the pier, we did it to each other. Very liberating. Some of us got some really big stuff (Olivia) and there was freedom and victory over life long issues/struggles (Joel Boyd). I felt more than honored to have the opportunity to have a time of prophesy and prayer with Janet and Richard Munn. Big stuff, big stuff. A time ordained by God.
We were very, very, very blessed to be honored by people in the Eastern Territory. I never experienced a single moment of negativity for who we were or what we were doing. People saw the fruit of our ministry and sung our praises. We were called up on the stage Sunday morning and honored in front of all the people present for camp meetings. Then the TC had an old session of officers that had come up to sing their sessional song come over to us, lay hands on us, and pray blessings over us. It was an uplifting time of generational blessing and acceptance. Our God values us deeply and gave us a lot of glory this past week. And we always give thanks and glory to our King. Amen. Needless to say, we represented well and the War College is getting a good name in the Eastern Territory. Glory to YHWH.
I could probably go on for hours about the week, but I'll leave it there. Katey, Olivia, and Joe can fill in the blanks. Oh yah, one more thing! Jen and Josh Ivany couldn't get over the border, so our team was short. But God provided Tara, who was supposed to be on vacation in OOB (thanks Tara!) and Joe, who was left alone with nothing to do in nearby West Brook. So God filled in our need and we give Him all the more glory! Hallelujah!
