The Big Move

Thanks everyone for your prayers and support.
So, Andrew and I move to Sydney in a couple of weeks and I will start my new job in mission administration. The job involves Admin support for various missions sections inside of THQ. Even though its in the missions department, it inovles no actual mission, but I am excited about seeing the Salvation Army from this viewpoint.
I believe God has arranged this position for me and it is highly strategic in the war. Here is my opportunity to learn first hand the current mission goals and strategy of THQ, and to infiltrate THQ from the inside for seven months. Please pray for me that I will be Holy Spirit lead and able to cope with office demands. Please pray that I will be bold and speak when neccesary and hold my tongue when it is wise to do so.
God has promised me that if I am faithful with little he will give me more. I am grateful to GOd for this opportunity.
Glory to God!
Yours in absolute awe of Jesus Christ,
Kirsty

How's it goin?

How is everyone? Who needs a word of encouragement or some prayer? Who's having tought times? Come to the body for some good old fashioned Holy Spirit lovin'!

God is good! Glory to the Name above all names!

And I'm serious. If you're having a rough time, just tell me/your session. Don't go about it on your own. If we don't help each other stand, we'll all just fall over. That's lame-town.

I love you! Tell me/us how we can help.

Psalm 119:33-40

Hey Guys Today while I was reading my Bible in prayer time i came across some scripture that I think our session needs this time when some of us struggling. The scripture is "Psalm 119:33-40" :-

33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end.

34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.

35 Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.

36 Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.

37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.

38 Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.

39 Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good.

40 How I long for your precepts! Preserve my life in your righteousness.

I love you guys and miss you a lot.

My car just broke down...

Why does life have to be so full of difficulties???

This sucks...

I posted my problem on a message board at www.cartalk.com. I hope I can get some good answers, especially one's like- "Oh, that's easy" and "It's a really cheap fix."

Even still, Glory to God! He is still good. Let's hold fast! I got a word this morning, but I'll give it later.

I love you guys! May you have shalom!

Mel in Montreal

Hi guys,

On Tuesday I went to the Simmons ware house with a 20ft. truck (with my dad and sister Kathryn, don't worry he drove) to pick up about 30 mattresses and load them onto the truck. These mattresses are brand new but cannot be sold because of a tag upside down or a small tear etc. so my dad takes them and sells them and uses the money for mission trips. To add an element of danger, there was this 3 foot gap between the truck and loading dock that if you didn't jump over you were gone. The guys at the ware house were having a good laugh while we're loading the truck because my sister and I are not exactly burly or heavily built ladies, but we did good.

We then had to deliver 2 mattresses and 2 box springs to friends of ours (its actually an old friend of mine since I was 12 who had moved away a couple years ago, but now is back!) on the 3rd floor. I was quite tired by the end, but was very pleased with the hard labour of the day.

Anyways, just thought I'd share a little story from my life right now.

Love Melissa

A Phrase!

I am reading a book called "Soldier of Salvation written by Wilfred Kitching" and while I was reading that book one phrase which I was reading that I think its good to share with you guys. The phrase is:-

Let us remember that we are called not to comfort, but to a cross; not to security, but to suffering; not to immediate triumph, but, maybe, to tribulation.

Galatians 3:3

Hey All,

I have been reading through Galatians this morning and a certain verse has been speaking to me and I think it may be for the session as well...

Galatians 3:3
Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?

Let us focus on Jesus and not fall back into the world's way of working, use God's strength, not your own.

I Learning maNy Good gramar thangs in unaver-sty.

Hey my Holies...
I successfully completed my first full week of university classes. (started Thursday and it's now Wednesday.) So I have actually managed to sit through at least one of each of my classes. One thing that's really cool is the fact that I'm sitting through these classes and I just keep thinking: WOW...THESE PEOPLE NEED JESUS!
Like we've been talking about morals in law and about how technically laws are set up by the rich and the wealthy as tools of oppression and that there is no absolute right and wrong because each person has a different perception on what is moral and what isn't moral.
The same comment was raised in 20th Century Literature class while we talked about Realism and Symbolism and the Quest for 'Truth.' *What is truth? Truth is different for each person.

BUT

To us as Christians it's all about JESUS! And it makes things all the easier.

My other courses are:
Psychology, Post-Communistic Transitions in Eastren Europe, and Sociology.

I've also managed to hook up with Campus 4 Christ and they're doing great work. I can't wait to get really involved. (There's gonna be a debate with a professor from Queens about 'Does God Exist?' Exciting!)

So please continue to keep me in your prayers and fight alongside me as I help win Carleton 4 Christ!

Out of the Country, Far from out of Commission

Hey guys,
as I write this to you all, I am sitting in Taipei airport, on my way back to Australia.
I ask for you prayers, but also ask for your continual commitment to the fight. True soldiers love the fight, right? Whether we are soldiers of the Salvation Army or not, we Soldiers of the Cross, The Lion of Judah fights with us!!!
Anyways, on with the update....
I tried to evangelise to a Taiwanese person in the airport, However, they couldnt speak english, and my Taiwanese is a little rusty.... So there was a slight discrepancy and I think he is about to call security on me... Ohh well....
Other than that, I have an 18 hour layover in a strange country with interesting people....
Maybe I should try some levitation, or maybe walking through walls..... hmmmmm....
Anyways, wanted to say that I love you guys, please pray for me, my trip and my time at home. Will be tough, but Im an aussie, with fiery Godhead on my side, Heck what am I worried about???
Be at peace, my comrades,
Be strong and courageous, and keep fighting, cause the workers are few.....

Marinate and Meditate on this

God is here. Jesus is LORD. Peace be upon Israel, and the whole world.

6.9.06

Here is my life:

So I'm still in quite a state of limbo.

I don't have a job or an apartment, I'm staying with my sister and her husband in their small apartment and I feel a little like I'm intruding, the first two jobs I applied for didn't work out, and the one I'm currently going for doesn't look much better. And now for the bad news- satan is still working in Seattle and he wants me to give up!!!

Earlier today I was strongly feeling the weight of my "problems" and I was having a lot of doubt. I felt a bit hopeless and stressed. Talking with YHWH wasn't working very well. I was struggling with doubt and very distracted. Not a good place to be.

Well, after helping Kim with the after school program, we went for a walk around Greenlake. Halfway through we sat on a dock and after a period of silence I finally let out how I was feeling. Then Kim asked me if I had given some stuff (I have been slimed a few times recently) over to the LORD. I realized I needed to shout to do so. So I stood reluctantly on the dock that I shared with some Italian tourists and gave a great shout. I may have held back a little ( I didn't want to scare the Italians, although that's a pansy excuse and I know it), but it did the job.

Long story short- YHWH is growing me through trials and the devil is unsuccessfully attempting to bring me down in it. But I won't give in! Glory to God! He sets me free from every wicked burden and oppression added by our nasty, ugly, smelly enemy, and I praise His name for it!

God is good! Let the redeemed say so! Hallelujah!

Pray for continued victory please. Thanks! I love you and I miss your loving support around me 24 hours a day. You're all very wonderful! Love you bye!

Sydney??

Yesterday Kirsty and I met with the CO's of Sydney Congress Hall, the corps in the city of Sydney. We spoke about a number of things including being involved in their ministries to street people(within what would probably be the poorest area in Australia), particually the Australian Aboriginal people. They are wanting to become much more mission focused to help win this area for Jesus. Hallelujah!

We are a little unsure. I heard some bad news yesterday about work and definately have no desire to return to that place.

We are hoping to go to Sydney soon to check out what is happening there.

Can you guys please pray for us at the moment? We see this as a possability however want to make sure it is YHWH's plan for us. Thanks. We would love to hear of any words/pictures you may get for us!

Love you all!
Andrew

update from Kath

So i still haven't quite got the spelling down to be able to sign in to the blog 1st go, maybe i should just link myself, or i should blog more often and learn how to spell.

so back to why i'm bloging. Currenlty somewear in Canada that starts with K, just found a poster on the wall so i can now spell, Kamloops, i'm in Kamloops! Just spent the last 24+ hours with my dad and steep mum, it's been good, we've all changed and grown, our relationships are heaps better.

Started our rocky mountain trip today- worked out i prefer holidays were you just stay in the one place, but the Rockies are awsome. Being feed heaps of food. I was impressed by the toast at breakfest, which i think used fresh bread, but have been eating 5 star all day, it's a bit odd.

Breaking news- I'm coming back to Canada. I don't actully know when yet, that's just the details, waiting on Jesus for that. Exciting news, my family is supporting my decions, changed within about 30min to a "do you REALLY think that's a good idea" to them forgeting that i'm going to be spending a bit of time shourtly in Australia, they now just think of me as staying a living in Canada- big thank you goes to all the people they meet yesterday- they love you guys. they had a real eye opening experance downtown and they liked metrotown, and at the moment there really into loving the Salavation army, which means they support me spending my life being involved with the army and not setteling donw and making a lot of money.

If you guys could pray for me that would be good, as i've been under a bit of attack today, after getting the support from my family yesterday, i've been battling some old lies, and a deisre to quite the race, which i'm not, i'm just looking for some break through.

love you guys

Direction and guidance

Remember during our knee drill grad when I got up and gave the word about raising up a generation? Well, if you don't, during knee drill grad I got up and gave a word about raising a generation to win the world for Jesus.

The Lord is preparing workers for a great harvest. Just as a farmer has to plant and water and wait and harvest in the proper seasons, so must we be strategic in following the Lord's seasons. There is a great harvest coming. Indeed, the fields are white for the harvest, but the workers are few. So let us pray that the Lord of the harvest would raise up workers.

I do not believe we are in the season of harvest yet. The harvest hasn't been that great around here, despite our efforts. Where we will find the greatest reward in this season is raising up workers. Look around at what's going on in the Church. Young kids are getting passionate for the LORD. Older teens and young adults are going to discipleship schools and Bible colleges instead of secular universities. I am more and more convinced that now is the time to raise up a generation. Start with children. Start up Warrior Academies. Disciple children and pre-teens. Help out with Sunday School. GET INVOLVED WITH KIDS AND YOUNG PEOPLE. If we are faithful to the Lord's anointing in this time of preparation, when the harvest comes, the fruit with be enormous.

For those in Vancouver, there is a CD in the War Room called Xtreme Disciples. (if you're not in Vancouver, keep your eye open for it) Check out the track "There is still the youngest." Stacy Campbell gives a very relevant word. I also recommend "Eyes and Wings." Good stuff.

Still try and get people saved, but focus on raising up workers. That's our direction. Lets do it!
